NYC Wins ULI Award for Excellence
Awards and Competitions
For decades, ULI has set the standard in recognizing outstanding real estate development projects, related programs, and visionaries in urban development. ULI awards programs are highly selective and prestigious. Winners and finalists benefit from worldwide recognition among influential leaders in real estate and urban development related fields.
ULI Awards for Excellence Program
ULI Awards for Excellence defines the standard for real estate development practice worldwide. In its 31st year, the program is the centerpiece of ULI’s efforts to identify and promote best practices in all types of real estate development.
| | The awards recognize the full development process of a project—construction, economic viability, marketing, and management—as well as design. The ULI Awards for Excellence honor development projects in three regions. Each region has its own jury, schedule, and fees.

Sheridan Expressway’s Demolition: Community Impacts on Southeastern Bronx’s Low-Income Neighborhoods |
This project will investigate the potential for new housing production on the site of an existing freeway in the southeastern Bronx and the surrounding area, and the economics of reserving a large share of this housing for below-market or subsidized affordable housing using a ULI-led technical assistance panel study. The proposed analysis will compare the impacts of demolition of the Sheridan Expressway versus its expansion by developing residential real estate market and employment and environmental scenarios to evaluate alternative tradeoffs. |
