Sustainable Building Council
Comprised of a select group of large New York City landlords, investors, managers, and sustainable development consultants, the Sustainable Building Council is dedicated to the “greening” of New York’s existing building inventory.
To explore, research and discuss solutions, opportunities and new directions in sustainable real estate and land use efforts through case studies, focus groups, and resource references to achieve greater awareness and understanding of best practices and emerging concepts related to:
- Metrics and Quantification
- Regulation and Incentives
- Underwriting and Valuation
- Communication-Education and Engagement: Investors / Tenants
- Operations for Existing Buildings
- End User Functionality
- Systems and Products
- NYC in comparison to progressive practices elsewhere
The ULI New York Sustainable Building Council (SBC) will focus information around roundtable discussions for its members and investigate the distribution of related information through the ULI New York website and various social networking media in an effort to bridge the traditional ULI learning platform with the time constraints of its members as we continue to promote the systemic and cultural incorporation of sustainability into real estate best practices.
Roundtable discussions will include a Guest Speaker with content related to the mission statement and a designated Discussion Leader from the SBC membership.
