ULI New York’s Women’s Leadership Initiative is pleased to announce its 2018 recipient of the ULI New York Alice Connell WLI Scholarship, Nina Vascotto! Ms. Vascotto has been an active ULI member for two years, where she has been very involved with the ULI NY Young Leaders Group. Within the group, Nina has coordinated multiple community service projects and was recently selected as a Co-Chair for the YLG Programming Committee.
In her professional role, Nina works for Jamestown Properties on the asset management team based in Industry City, Brooklyn. There she supports the management, leasing, and development teams to evaluate the financial viability of capital improvement projects and new lines of business. Additionally, she assists in underwriting and negotiating lease transactions, producing reports for various business lines, and assisting in the annual budgeting / business planning process. Prior to her current role, Nina was part of the Real Estate Analyst program at Wells Fargo where she assisted in underwriting deals such as Related’s 50 Hudson Yards and Brookfield’s 5 Manhattan West Recap. Nina graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Business. While attending the University of Virginia, Nina was a member of the varsity crew team.
Now in its third year, the Alice Connell WLI Scholarship celebrates exceptional women in real estate who have made significant contributions to the New York District Council. The scholarship underwrites the cost to attend the annual ULI Fall Meeting – including a reimbursement to the recipient for up to $1,000 in travel expenses.
ULI New York’s Women’s Leadership Initiative’s namesake for their scholarship was a dear mentor and friend to the organization – Alice Connell. Alice was the first female chair of ULI New York and was a founding member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative within the New York District Council. Alice passed away in early 2017, after which WLI NY unanimously agreed to rename this scholarship in her honor. Our WLI also hosts an annual fundraiser to support the scholarship.
Please join us in congratulating Nina!
