About
THE MISSION OF THE URBAN LAND INSTITUTE
Shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide
ULI, the Urban Land Institute, is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members.
Founded in 1936, we now have more than 45,000 members worldwide, representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines working in private enterprise and public service.
A multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates an open exchange of ideas, information, and experience among industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places.
Members say we provide information they can trust, and that ULI is a place where leaders come to grow professionally and personally through sharing, mentoring, and problem solving. With pride, ULI members commit to the best in land use policy and practice.
MISSION COMMITMENTS
INSPIRE best practices for equitable and sustainable land use through content, education, convening, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
LEAD in solving community and real estate challenges through applied collective global experience and philanthropic engagement
MISSION PRIORITIES
INCREASING HOUSING ATTAINABILITY
EDUCATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF DIVERSE LEADERS
All three priorities will be underpinned by a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), which recognizes that our communities can be successful and sustainable only if they work for everyone.
By channeling our resources and energies into tackling these important and pressing challenges, we can maximize our impact.
ULI New York carries out, at the local level, the mission of ULI by promoting an open exchange of ideas, information, and experience among industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better neighborhoods.
ULI New York offers in-depth analysis of current land use issues and educates real estate professionals on the impact of land use policies on the City’s future. The organization also invests in the professional and personal development of the next generation of community and real estate industry leaders.
Members of the Urban Land Institute that reside in New York State (excluding Westchester County) are automatically members of ULI New York.
