These sponsorships also provide the critical resources we need to implement key initiatives in the New York region, such as:

• UrbanPlan, ULI’s project-based learning curriculum where ULI members help high school and university students understand the fundamental forces that shape the built environment
• UrbanPlan for Public Officials, ULI’s member-led workshops that enable public officials to better understand the trade-offs and risk at play in the entitlement and negotiation process associated with land use, especially in public-private partnerships (P3s)
• Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs), where ULI members volunteer their time and expertise to provide objective advice and practical solutions to local governments, public agencies and nonprofit organizations facing complex land use and real estate challenges throughout New York State
• Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives such as:
  • Pathways to Inclusion, a program which allows individuals of color working in the land use industry to experience ULI through a complimentary one-year membership and access to ULI New York events 
  • WLI Fellows program, which offers two female graduate or undergraduate students per year a complimentary two-year ULI membership and access to all ULI New York’s programs and events
  • REal Stories, which exposes high school female students of color to the fundamentals of real estate 

Every year, our passionate volunteer leaders and dedicated staff work collaboratively to provide our members and sponsors with ongoing access to ULI’s high quality programming, network of multidisciplinary experts, and best practice guidance. 2024 saw ULI New York host over 75 in-person events, over 70% of which were focused on ULI’s mission priorities of decarbonization and net zero, increasing housing attainability, and developing the next generation of diverse leaders.
