On Wednesday, June 8, ULI NY hosted a special thank you event for our 2016 sponsors.  Attendees joined Aron Gooblar and Paul Travis of Washington Square Partners for a tour of City Point,the largest food, shopping and entertainment destination in Downtown Brooklyn. The project includes retail, residential, and office space located along Brooklyn’s busiest retail corridor at the corner of Flatbush and Fulton. Lessons from Yonkers and Beyond: Communities Grapple with Integration

This week in UrbanLand: Journalist Lisa Belkin’s book, Show Me a Hero, was first published in 1999, leading to a 2015 HBO miniseries that dramatized what happened when Yonkers, New York, was ordered by a federal judge in 1985 to end its practice of racially segregating its population through its public housing program and school system. But Belkin, speaking at the ULI Housing Opportunity Conference, says that communities across the United States—urban and suburban alike—are still grappling with better integrating neighborhoods.
