The growing interest and awareness in the production and sourcing of fresh, local food is spawning innovation and new direction in the real estate development arena. Join ULI NNJ on Thursday, Sepetember 14, 2017 at the intersection of food and real estate for a fun- filled Fall Day of learning, exploring and sharing of trends and best practices in this readily growing field.

Developers, investors, food entrepreneurs , advocates and other real estate professionals will enjoy a special behind- the- scenes farm tour, chef’s table lunch and panel discussion at the historic 90 Acres Farm in Peapack-Gladstone, NJ, which includes a 12 acre sustainable farm, a state of the art cooking school and world-renowned restaurant. Hear first hand from the local farming community, as well as food entrepreneurs and others as to the newest technologies, trends and incentives being employed by the public and private sectors in order to maximize food production while serving rural and urban communities alike.

From the new trend of agrihoods to the cultivation of produce in vertical indoor farms at Aerofarms, how are innovative approaches to food spawning healthier, more sustainable and more equitable outcomes in cites and communities? Come hear these and other questions asked and answered.

Some of the unique forum highlights will include:
•A walking tour of the historic 90 Acres farm; including its history and future
•A presentation by Rachel MacCleery, SVP of ULI, on Cultivating Development including an overview of Agrihoods as a innovative real estate concept as well as other trends and opportunities that are occurring
•Sam Schatz,  Managing Director for Corporate Development at Aerofarms, will be speak about leading their expansion for the farm in Newark as well as the new farm in Camden, NJ
•A description of new programs and incentives to encourage farmland preservation in NJ
•Food as a mixed use anchor and adaptive reuse as well as a solution to our food deserts in in urban communities including a the development of Aerofarms
