Sleepy Hollow is a small village with big things going on! It is a microcosm of today’s headline issues including loss of manufacturing jobs, the influx of new immigrants, income inequity, shifts in land use and redevelopment pressures. All of these will impact and reshape the community well into the 21st century.
In late 2017, the Village Board of Trustees, led by Mayor Ken Wray, asked ULI’s New York and Westchester/Fairfield District Councils to convene a two-day Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) to address these challenges and propose solutions. The catalyst for the panel was the approval of a mixed-use community of 1,100 units, known as Edge on Hudson (EOH), on the former GM auto manufacturing site, currently being developed by PCD Capital, LLC. The TAP report – A Vision for Sleepy Hollow: Managing Change & Building for Diversity – released in August 2018, outlined a series of strategic recommendations to address Sleepy Hollow’s growing population, take advantage of new development and preserve the community’s rich diversity.
Join us for an exciting lunch program and hear from the ULI Tap Panelists, Mayor Wray, the developer and others on the progress made thus far and the work that remains ahead. Immediately following the program, attendees will have the opportunity to visit Edge on Hudson for a site tour led by the project developer.
Program, lunch, transportation to the tour of Edge on Hudson and a copy of the TAP report will be provided to all who register for the program.
