The past eighteen months have resulted in one of the largest disruptions in history for NYC’s hotel industry. Recent estimates show that the city lost approximately a third of its hotel rooms since the beginning of the pandemic, with revenue per available room down over 60% from 2019. However, as Broadway and other major tourist attractions begin to open their doors to the public, many professionals are cautiously optimistic that the city’s tourism industry - and, as a result, hotels - are finally on the path to recovery.
Join ULI New York and leading hotel professionals as we discuss what the future holds for the city’s hotel industry. During the panel, we will look at what the data indicates for hotels moving forward, how the city will handle excess hotel inventory, what hotel owners are doing to adjust to new policies and trends following the pandemic, and what financing will look like for hotels over the next few years.
