ULI New York's Women's Leadership Career Development Night for University Students
Back by popular demand, join ULI New York's Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) for our 7th annual Career Development Night! This program is designed for current undergrad and graduate students who are interested in learning more about different career paths within the land use and real estate industry. At the event, students have an opportunity to network with peers and industry professionals across the real estate industry. This year we will have two breakout sessions:
Session #1: A Panel on Career Pivots
Today’s job market is challenging - technology has begun to automate tasks and parts of whole roles that existed just a few years ago are shifting. Available job openings are down and late-stage retirements are delayed. How do job seekers in the prime of their careers stay on top of the market and land quality roles? By being nimble, creative and creating opportunities with an open-minded approach to job seeking! Join WLI’s University Outreach for a moderated panel looking through the lens of “Career Pivots”. We’ll be interviewing women who’ve made significant career shifts or changes in roles/responsibilities - what they did beforehand, how they got to their current roles, what knowledge from earlier roles translated and what other factors made the pivot viable.

Kassie Wallace | Retail Real Estate Advisory, Cushman Wakefield

Session #2: A Fresh Start: In This Economy?!
In small group discussions, ULI Young Leaders and early career CRE participants from different market sectors will share insights on their early careers: how they got their first jobs, tips and tricks for current job-seekers and sharing insight from the other side of the job search
If you are not a current student but know someone who is, send this opportunity along! This event has limited capacity for in-person attendees.
