The path to a successful real estate (RE) career can sometimes be a winding road that can be cultivated by unusual work experiences, circuitous education journeys, and unexpected personal networks.
In this exciting student-oriented program, we will highlight the differences of 'traditional vs nontraditional' paths of developing a career in real estate - regardless of your professional starting point.  We will also focus on expanding students’ awareness of career opportunities that are available - but may not be very apparent - that can prepare young professionals for a career in the RE industry.

    Program panelists:
    • Lisa Gomez– L+M Development Partners – Chief Operating Officer and Partner
    • Dawanna Williams– Dabar Development Partners – Founder and Managing Principal
    • Beth Zafonte– Akerman – Director of Economic Development Services
Some of the topics panelists will discuss are:
    • How did you get your start and what was your “break” into real estate?
    • Large vs. small RE firms (pros and cons)
    • Unusual opportunities before, during, and after COVID
    • Community engagement and development
    • Minority- and Women- Owned Business Enterprises
    • Highlighting construction management
    • Networking vs. building relationships
