Former ULI Trustee, Carl Weisbrod Named Mayor de Blasio’s Department of City Planning Commission Chair

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio named former Urban Land Institute Trustee, Carl Weisbrod as the new chairman of the city’s planning commission. With over 35 years experience, Mr. Weisbrod is considered to be a plugged-in real estate consultant and was the former co-chair of the new Mayor’s transition team.

“Carl is a quintessential New Yorker. He brings a real passion for our neighborhoods and our diversity across the five boroughs. And he also understands exactly how the city can shape development to stoke the most growth, the strongest affordability, and the best jobs for New Yorkers. He is ready to take these challenges head-on,” Mr. de Blasio said in a statement.

ULI Member, Alicia Glen Named Mayor de Blasio’s Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development

Urban Land Institute Member, Alicia Glen has been named New York City’s deputy mayor for housing and economic development.

A former managing director at Goldman Sachs, Glen led the Urban Investment Group and focused on providing financing to under-served communities.In her new role, she will shepherd the Administration’s five-borough economic development strategy and job-creation efforts.
