WLI Committees
Programming
Develops and executes a substantive programming agenda – including ULI New York’s WLI signature “Learning from Leaders” event in the fall. In coordination with the ULI New York Program Steering Committee’s overall District Council programming efforts, other events might include panels, keynote speakers, tours, professional development workshops.
Communications
Produces the WLI newsletter and updates the messaging for ULI New York’s WLI webpage and WLI-focused social media posts. Develops a communications and marketing strategy to effectively present WLI’s value proposition both within ULI and to potential members.
Membership Engagement
Coordinates with ULI New York’s Membership Committee to support overall District Council membership recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies. Leads on initiatives to recruit and retain prospective female ULI members by leveraging WLI to integrate them into the broader ULI New York community. Develops and implements new strategies to enhance the diversity of age, background and career specialization of the female membership base of ULI New York; works to promote connection and relationship-building among members within WLI and across the organization.
University Outreach
Works in tandem with ULI New York’s Membership Committee and ULI New York’s WLI Membership Engagement Committee to support overall District Council university student outreach, recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies. Committee activities include: NY-based university outreach and activation; liaising with university programs; a fall career discovery program followed by orchestrating informational interviews for participants; and a spring semester university-focused special program.
Scholarship/Foundations
Runs point on the ULI New York Alice Connell WLI Scholarship – where each year two young women who have contributed significantly to the ULI NY District Council are awarded a scholarship to attend the ULI Fall Meeting. Committee is responsible for long-term planning around the scholarship program and scholarship alumni engagement. Committee organizes an annual fundraiser for various local WLI initiatives. The committee also recently launched our ULI New York WLI Fellows program. The program annually selects two ULI New York WLI Fellows from an application process that is open to female undergrad and grad students in the New York region. The Fellows are guided through various Fellows program initiatives and offerings by the Scholarship/Foundations Committee.
