We are proud to share with you a feature segment from NY1 on UrbanPlan titled, “Brooklyn Tech Students Learn Tenets of Real Estate Development Through Unique Curriculum.”
UrbanPlan is a great example of how ULI members are making an impact in our community by educating the next generation of voters, neighbors, community leaders, public officials, and land use professionals about the challenges of development.
Since its debut in 2003, UrbanPlan has taught more than 4,000 high school students in New York City how to think more critically about the challenging issues, complex trade-offs, public and private sector roles, and fundamental economics involved in development.
UrbanPlan’s success is due to our volunteer members who give their time to share their experience and help students achieve a more sophisticated understanding of the questions surrounding land use decisions.
Want to make an impact and train the next generation of New York’s leaders? Join us for our next one-day training for new volunteers scheduled for Thursday, October 22 or Friday, October 23. If you’d like to join UrbanPlan as a volunteer, please contact our UrbanPlan Coordinator, Jessica Lum, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
We thank this year’s UrbanPlan volunteers for their time and commitment to the program and remain grateful for the contributions of all our UrbanPlan volunteers.
