On the evening of March 10, 400 leaders of the New York real estate and land use community gathered in Gotham Hall to honor 14 finalists for the 2016 Awards for Excellence in Development (“Awards”). The Awards, the first of its kind for the New York District Council, embody locally the guiding principles of the ULI Global Awards for Excellence, the development industry’s most prestigious award program. The Awards recognizes outstanding real estate development projects within the New York District Council’s geographic region, both in the private and public sector, that exemplify ULI’s mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities. The Awards provide the District Council with a unique platform to promote best practices in the industry and to highlight annually the innovative projects that are raising the bar and being developed all across New York.
The Awards Committee, Co-Chaired by Carl Galioto, HOK and Paul Schulman, Brookfield, did a tremendous job supporting the visibility of the inaugural event and fundraising for the District Council. The Awards, from start to finish, was a team effort beginning with the committee’s review of the submissions, to the jury’s site visits, deliberation, and finally, the planning of the gala dinner itself. A big thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and effort to the Awards and to our sponsors who supported the event! Click here to learn about the winners of the 2016 Awards!
