The Western New York satellite of the Urban Land Institute (ULI WNY) is excited to implement UrbanPlan for Public Officials (UP4PO), a case-based exercise in which teams of five respond to a mock RFP to redevelop five blocks in a fictitious city. Each team member takes on a different role in the development team: city liaison, community liaison, financial analyst, marketing director, or site planner. Together, team members produce a proposal that balances the trade-offs and desires of each of the stakeholders. After each team presents its project, the City Council awards a “contract” to the winning team.
Learn more about the real estate development process through this one-day, hands-on workshop. We are looking for Common Council members, Town Board members, Planning Board members, Zoning Board of Appeals members, IDA Board members, and other officials and staff from Western New York communities to participate!
