    ULI New York’s Women’s Leadership Initiative is proud to once again present its annual Learning From Leaders series—a professional development program designed to empower women with skills to excel in the workplace and beyond. In intimate roundtable sessions, members will be able to engage with influential leaders in real estate and design.

    Speakers will discuss their thoughts on leveraging leadership opportunities and pathways, as well as critical choices and challenges that have shaped their careers.

    Hana Kassem 
    Hana is a Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates with close to 30 years of experience as an architect leading the design of projects in the US and internationally. Her design philosophy lies in the idea that design is human-centric, experiential and should enhance well-being and fulfill social needs; creating enriching and equitable environments. Her work is centered on people’s experience and perception of the built environment in a variety of typologies including academic, research, cultural, hospitality, residential and commercial mixed-use projects - with current work in Brazil, USA, France, the Philippines and China. Some of the notable, awarded projects she has led include, the Red Hook Houses Resiliency and Recovery project for NYCHA, and the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center in NYC.
     
    Kassem serves on the AIANY Board of Trustees, Executive Committee as VP for Design Excellence and is Founding Chair for the AIANY Global Dialogue’s annual
    Leaning Out | Women in Architecture panel. She also serves on the Van Alen Institute Executive Board of Trustees, where she initiated foundational thinking for the Neighborhoods Now project, which mobilized more than 150 architects to employ their design skills in the service of neighborhoods in need during the Covid-19 pandemic. Hana was appointed to serve on the Mayor’s Advisory Council for post Covid-19 reopening of NYC.

    Kassem has taught at the Yale School of Architecture and Parsons School of Constructed Environments, formulating studio topics that focus on an experiential engagement with our environment, focusing on marginalized communities. She is co-editor of a book entitled Architect d.b.a | On Re-defining the Roles of the Architect Today.
     
    Rebecca D'Eloia 
    Rebecca is a real estate development executive with 24 years of experience in large-scale, public/private redevelopment projects primarily in the metropolitan region. As Executive Vice President of Development at RXR, she leads development activities across multiple asset classes within the company’s ground-up portfolio. Her project experience includes complex, multi-phased master plans such as the Innovation District at Nassau Hub, the 72-acre site surrounding Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum; Garvies Point, a $1B+, 1,100-unit mixed-use redevelopment project which is reclaiming a 56-acre former industrial site along the waterfront in Glen Cove; Veridea, a 1,100 acre, mixed use greenfield in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina; and the redevelopment of Long Island University’s Downtown Brooklyn campus. Prior to joining RXR, Rebecca was Senior Vice President at Forest City Realty Trust, focusing on the entitlements and development of Pacific Park (Atlantic Yards) in Brooklyn, and the design and construction of Barclays Center, home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. She also led the $160M renovation of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Nassau County. Prior to Forest City, Rebecca was part of the team leading the redevelopment of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, a $1.2 B reconstruction of the campus housing eleven world-renowned performing arts organizations, including the New York Philharmonic, the Juilliard School and the Metropolitan Opera. Rebecca began her career at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, where she oversaw revenue contracts and licenses for the agency. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Rebecca resides in Huntington, Long Island with her husband and 2 children.  
     
    Lauren Holden
    Ms. Holden joined ShopCore in September 2022 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. She has nearly 20 years of experience working with open-air neighborhood and community centers, high street, enclosed malls, and mixed-use assets. Ms. Holden will have primary responsibility for all ShopCore assets, including asset management, leasing, development, property management, and marketing.
     
    Previously, Ms. Holden worked at Clarion Partners as an Equity Partner, Managing Director, and Head of Retail Asset Management. During her time at Clarion, she was on the Steering Committee of Clarion’s Women’s Leadership Network and ESG committee, an Advisory Peer Group member to five separate accounts, and a Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Mentor. Prior to joining Clarion in 2014, Lauren was Executive Vice President of Investment Management and Acquisitions at Equity One, which has since merged with Regency Centers. Before joining Equity One in 2008, Ms. Holden was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Kimco Realty. She joined Kimco in 2003 as an Acquisitions Analyst.

    Ms. Holden holds a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University. She is an active member of ICSC and ULI and currently serves on the board of directors for WX, Inc., an organization that promotes the advancement of women in commercial real estate.
     
    Eva Trimble
    Eva Trimble was appointed NYCHA’s Chief Operating Officer in July 2022. In this role she oversees all aspects of public housing administration for the Authority’s developments across the five boroughs, which includes property management operations, tenancy, and resident engagement.
     
    Eva’s career in New York City government spans more than two decades. She joined NYCHA in 2019 as Executive Vice President for Strategy and Innovation, where she led the newly established Strategy and Innovation Department in providing a strategic, data-driven approach for the Authority to maximize available funding, ensure the efficient use of resources, and improve service delivery for residents. Her team focused on engagement with the Federal Monitor and other partners to structure and drive the development of the Transformation Plan, a new, unified strategic vision and organizational plan for the Authority.
     
    Previously, Eva spent 10 years at the Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD). At HPD, she served in various roles, most recently as Executive Deputy Commissioner with a portfolio that included Financial Management, Tenant Resources, Asset & Property Management, Technology, and Human Resources.
    Eva received a Master of Public Administration from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Eva is also an alumnus of the Coro New York leadership program. She lives in Washington Heights with her husband and two daughters.
