ULI New York’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and Young Leaders Group (YLG) are proud to present a special program reflecting on the lived experiences of local Black professionals in the land use industry.

Join us for a moderated panel on February 13 to hear how representation, inspiration, and leadership define new possibilities for future talent – and as a result – present boundless returns to an industry also in search of its own opportunities for growth.

In honor of Black History Month, please join our accomplished and powerfully insightful speakers as they share personal stories of their career experiences in commercial real estate & urban land use. Our panelists will aim to deliver unique and practical guidance towards innovation and prosperity for all by answering key questions that include:

    • How have our identities, values, and lived experience shaped our career paths and achievements, and professional goals moving forward?
    • What do we wish to achieve for future generations and our industry?
    • How is the practice of DEI in the real estate industry evolving to create lasting, meaningful change?
    • What are some innovative approaches to equity and inclusion beyond traditional DEI models?

From urban planning to design and development, the land use industry offers a wide range of highly lucrative, rewarding, and impactful career opportunities. Our panelists will offer insights into careers in their respective fields, as well as practical advice for success gained through their own experiences as racially diverse members of the New York real estate community.

These learnings can serve as a blueprint to attract and motivate new talent and business opportunities, as well as evolve how all communities experience our built environment for the positive.
